Walt Disney World / Disneyland Pin Trading Displays

Sarah and I are avid pin traders when we go to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL.  We have collected quite a few over the years and have a rather nice way to displaying them on our walls. Our original display which we still use can be seen in the first image is made of fabric stretched over a needle point hoop.  I have since discovered the beauty and neatness of scrapbooking frames, which all the rest of the pin displays have been made from.  These are easy to do and look great! All you have to do is get you a scrapbooking frame, a piece of your favorite scrapbooking paper, and 1 ft x 1 ft square of corkboard (which comes in 4 packs). Take the frame and remove the glass and throw it away put back in the 4 glass holders/spacers then your paper, cork board and back and it's ready to go!

This is our original pin hanging, we use it today for the really heavy pins and some of our absolute favorites. It's strong point is that you poke the pin through and use the mickey back to hold the pin in place from the backside.  The downside is you have to take it off the wall to add more pins, and you are limited by fabric choices plus if your fabric has patterns it's really tricky to keep from stretch distorting the pattern.

After I discovered the scrapbooking frames, I'd just look around until I found some nice Disney related scrapbooking paper, and pick up some accent stickers to really customise the display. These frames are awesome in that you take the pin and remove the mickey ear back and throw that into a bag and just stab the pin into the board wherever you want and your done.

By Frame #7 I have gotten lazy and quit putting the accent stickers on. This has a benefit though in that the display can hold more pins!  This is one of my favorite displays as we have really enjoyed collecting Vinymation pins both the 3D and the 2D ones.

I hope you enjoyed looking at our Disney Pins! I know we have really enjoyed collecting them and trading with hundreds of people and cast members at Walt Disney World.  Please leave me a comment about what you think or how you display your pins.
