June 16, 1955 Disney's 15th animated feature film Lady and the Tramp has its
world premiere in Chicago. It is the first Disney cartoon feature filmed in CinemaScope.

"Lady and the Tramp" is an American animated film produced by Walt Disney and released to theaters on June 22, 1955, by Buena Vista Distribution.  It was the first animated feature filmed in the CinemaScope wide screen film process and the fifteenth animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series.


 The story centers on a female American Cocker Spaniel, named "Lady" who lives with a refined, upper middle-class family, and a male stray, called the "Tramp" who lives on the streets enters the picture and tries to teach Lady about how good it is to be free but in the end Lady teaches Tramp how good it is to belong.
