Roy Disney was born in Chicago, IL June 24th 1893 To Elias Disney and Flora Call Disney. Roy and Walt Disney co-founded Disney Studios with Walt as the creative force and Roy as the financial officer. Roy is famous for saying: "My job is to help Walt do the things he wants to do."
Roy was married in 1923 to Edna Francis. Edna would along with Walt's wife Lillian helped ink early animation cels in the new studio. Roy and Edna had one child Roy Edward Disney who was born January 10th 1930.
After Walt's death in 1966 Roy put off retirement to oversea the company and make sure the Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida was built. Walt Disney World opened on October 1st, 1971, just a couple of months before Roy passed away. Roy died December 20th 1971.
