Pleasure Island the center of downtown disney was built to compete with Orlando's Church Street Station, a thriving gated attraction of multiple clubs for one price.
Disney says it wants to focus on family entertainment more and the adult nightclubs just didn't fit in with that. The entire project is projected to be completed in early 2013.
