Disneyrewind - June 28, 1932 Actor Pat Morita is born in Isleton, California













Actor Noriyuki "Pat" Morita is born June 28, 1932 in Isleton, California. Best known from The Karate Kid movies, TV fans may also remember him for his role as Arnold on the ABC hit sitcom Happy Days.

For us Disney fans, Pat was the voice of the Emperor in Disney's 1998 feature Mulan. He later reprised the role in video game Kingdom Hearts II and the direct to video sequel to Mulan, Mulan II.

Pat Morita died on November 24, 2005, at his home in Las Vegas of kidney failure at the age of 73. He was survived by his wife of 15 years, Evelyn, as well as his children from previous marriages, Erin, Aly, and Tia. He was also survived by siblings Gloria Imagire, Clarence Saika, Teddy Saika, Peggy Saika, and his then-92-year-old mother, Dorothy Sueko Saika (1913–2009), of Milpitas, California.
