Robert Keeshan, famously known to children as Captain Kangaroo, is born in Lynbrook, New York on June 27, 1927. Although Bob Keeshan is best loved for his role as Captain Kangaroo who worked with Mr Green Jeans and Mr Moose who had a penchant for dropping ping pong balls on the dear Captain's head.
But did you know Robert Keeshan also worked with Disney. He was the voice of Aesop in a 1998 episode of Disney's Hercules television series titled Hercules and the Kids that originally aired November 28, 1998. This was the final acting roll of Robert Keeshan. Robert Keeshan died January 23, 2004 in Windsor, Vermont at the age of 76.
The New York Times commented: "Captain Kangaroo, a round-faced, pleasant, mustachioed man possessed of an unshakable calm ... was one of the most enduring characters television ever produced."
