Contemporary @ Walt Disney World Basement Arcade
Well I'm feeling nostalgic today...looking back at memories of Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. Today, I'm thinking about the awesome 24 hour fun center that used to be in the basement of the Walt Disney World Contemporary Resort. Just imagine this: It's late 1971 and you're staying at Walt Disney World. There is a place... ONE place that is open 24 hours a day, and it is filled with games, food, and movies. Well ,you're starting to get an idea of how important this place is in the memories of early Walt Disney World Guests.
Whatever happened to all of these fabulous machines and caricature artists? More importantly what happened to the black light spooky shooting gallery that was a sister, or possibly the forerunner to the Magic Kingdom's "Frontierland Shootin' Arcade" pictured below:

According to the following links, it is believed that the Contemporary Shooting Gallery, as well as the "Frontierland Shootin' Arcade" were manufactured by:

Both target games originally used BB Guns mounted in such a fashion that you couldn't turn them and target other guests. I am unsure if the Contemporary Gallery was ever converted to infra-red (IR), but the "Frontierland Shootin' Arcade" in the Magic Kingdom has been converted to IR, and no longer shoots BB's.
